Rachel Bowers is a Salish Indian Artist and resident of Pablo, Montana. Rachel comes from a prominent traditional Salish family and is very knowledgeable of Salish arts. Rachel is noted throughout the United States for her beautiful beadwork. Her work is very unique in its use of color and design. It reflects traditional thought and values while having a very contemporary feeling. Her beadwork incorporates traditional design and techniques with her own innovative and very quince style. Rachel’s work has been exhibited and collected by many museums including the Smithsonian. Rachel has been teaching Beading for the Salish Kootenai College since 1981. She is a great resource for students who hold like to learn how to bead.
