There are communities surrounding Butte within a short drive where nightly lodging is available. These communities include Anaconda, Whitehall, Basin, Boulder, Helena, Bozeman, Deer Lodge, and Dillon. For example, In Boulder, 30 miles north of Butte and halfway to Helena, consider the Boulder Hot Springs. The Andrus Hotel is 60 miles to the south in Dillon.

Can I camp in city parks in Butte?
Camping in local parks is welcome this year during the Montana Folk Festival
Three city parks will be available for tent camping, where the campers are very careful with staking to avoid sprinkling systems. All campsites are on a first-come, first-served basis.
McGruff Park— Corner of Continental and Chicago Streets, No Services, Close to site, all ages. Tent camping only.
Copper Mountain Park— South Montana, to Beef Trail Road, camper parking, and some limited tent camping, no services.
Foreman’s Park at the Mountain Con— North Main Street to Little Minah, Family camping only, early curfew and quiet campsite, mostly RV/Camper, limited tent possible away from Walking Trail. No services.
Please pack in and out all garbage. No spiking please to avoid hitting a sprinkling line. No vehicles on the grass. No dumping. No fires.
There is no reservation for camping in Butte’s municipal parks — first come, first served.

Where can I park my RV in the Butte area?
Butte has three commercial campgrounds that accommodate RVs. The Butte KOA Campground is located on Kaw Street just beside the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center and about a half mile from the Civic Center and festival shuttles. The 2 Bar Lazy H Campground is in Ramsey about five miles west of Butte, The Fairmont RV Campground is a few miles farther west near Fairmont Hot Springs.

While there will be plenty to do on the festival site, all around is Butte’s historic central business district, home to specialty retail stores, museums, fine art galleries, and a couple of dozen excellent restaurants.
