Big Sky Mohair Cinches | Bozeman, MT
Big Sky Mohair Cinches is a two-sister team based out of Bozeman, Montana. It was born out of necessity. A horse at the therapeutic riding program where they worked required a 42″ cinch—a tough size to find. So they made their own! Their goal is to create a highly usable piece of tack that is as functional as it is beautiful. Mohair is considered the “diamond fiber” for its luster, comfort, and functionality in a cinch.
Hand-tied cinches date back all the way to the 1800s. This functional art started to regain popularity in the 1980s as the availability of supplies and Mohair made it easier for the average horse person to learn to tie their own gear.
Dana and Tracy focus on creating unique cinches that are comfortable to the horse and appealing to the eye: because a comfortable horse can get the job done!
