Spur Watson

Spur Watson

Spurr Watson lives and works in central Montana, where he operates a custom saddle shop rooted in function, tradition, and craftsmanship. He began saddle making as a hobby, learning through the generosity of skilled saddlemakers and later refining his technique through formal classes with established makers. Committed to the cowboy lifestyle, Watson worked on large ranches in Wyoming before settling on a historic Montana outfit, where long days in the saddle shaped his understanding of what a working saddle must provide. In 2021, after the ranch he worked for was sold, Watson pursued saddle making full time as demand for his work continued to grow. The following year, he received the Traditional Cowboy Arts Association Fellowship scholarship, further refining his craft alongside leading makers in the field.
